The Alambique Guarani distillery is located in the city of Guarani, in the state of Minas Gerais, considered by many to be the state of cachaça. It has developed two cachaça brands.
DOM BRE, with its coat of arms, refers to the values and traditions of Minas Gerais, which have been passed down through the family for generations. It offers artisanal, premium, and extra-premium cachaças.
In 2020, Dom Bré Amburana Cachaça and Dom Bré Extra Premium Cachaça won their first awards at the Cùpula da Cachaça.
In 2022, Dom Bré Extra Premium Cachaça recently received another distinction from the Cùpula da Cachaça, placing 5th in the Premium/Extra Premium category.
Bagasse, the fibrous residue of sugarcane once harvested and ground, is used as fuel for copper stills.
Once burned in the furnace that heats the still, the bagasse is mixed with livestock manure and used as compost. It is also applied as fertilizer in areas where corn, beans, sugarcane, and pastures are grown.
The distillate, which is not fit for human consumption, is converted into ethanol and then used in farm vehicles.
The water is used in a closed circuit to cool the stills and reused to irrigate the gardens surrounding the distillery.
